Hiring a contractor to repair, replace or maintain your commercial HVAC system is an important decision. Not only does it help save you time, but it also ensures your HVAC unit is operational at all times. This is just what you need to keep your business running effectively and drive growth.
But with so many commercial HVAC contractors out there to choose from, how can you tell whether or not you’re working with the best? To help you in your search for a qualified commercial HVAC contractor, listed below are some helpful tips to leverage.
Check Licenses
Before inviting them to your commercial building, be sure to find out if the company is fully licensed to operate. Take this as the perfect opportunity to verify their credentials, including federal and state licenses. There is nothing wrong with asking for certifications in servicing commercial heating and cooling units.
When commercial HVAC contractors are licensed and insured, they can offer compensation for property theft and work not performed per the contract. The same applies if you suffer any losses that are not covered by insurance.
Reputation Matters
When performing a background check on the prospective commercial HVAC contractor, you need to check their record at the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Of course, they will not offer you everything you need to know about the contractor, but will surely inform you of how they respond to customers. If a contractor fails to address customers’ complaints in a timely fashion, then they are not worth your time and money.
You can also ask the commercial HVAC contractor to share testimonials and reviews from previous clients. A reputable contractor is always going to amass numerous positive reviews. If they seem hesitant with sharing this information, feel free to look elsewhere.
Finding the best commercial HVAC contractor to work with doesn’t have to be the sole reason behind your woes. As long as you do your homework and understand the things to watch out for while searching around, it will only be a matter of time before you make an informed choice.
