The valve is launching a new strategy game under the umbrella of Dota called Dota Underlords. This is a rebooted version of chess with characters taken from the Dota franchise. Valve has also taken help from Auto Chess, which is a third-party mod.
The game is expected to be launched on stream and will be available for Mac, Linux and Windows platforms. There will be another phone-based version of the game as well for Android and IOS users. Dota 2 Battle Pass owners can play the preview version of Dota Underlords. Once the previewing testing is over, the beta version will be made free for all players.
This is a standalone game where eight players will be thrown in a chess-like situation, and they have to win the battle with tactics and strategies. The game is set in the city of White Spire, and the players can build, combine and level up with their friends. This game is the second Dota spinoff released in the last two years.
The game is currently in the testing phase and is limited to a few people for now. Players can play this preview version against seven different players online with the preview access. Other gameplay options include offline against bots, team battles against bots or online with players.
If you are Dota 2 Battle Pass owners, you can download Dota Underlords on your stream. Sources suggest that the game will be up for preview for at most a week. Then it will be made available for free download on all its supported platforms. In the open Beta version, players can expect a few more features added to the game. They are cross-play, comprehensive ranked matchmaking, and you can see your progress across devices.
